The installation process is straightforward and as easy as using SiteDynamic!
Proceed as follows:
Installation instructions
- Unzip the downloaded file named 'SiteDynamic_xxx.zip' onto your local computer (make sure to maintain the directory structure contained in the zip).
- Upload the 'SiteDynamic_xxx' folder content to your webspace (make sure to maintain the directory structure intact).
- Go to http://www.yourdomain.com/admin/ and login (Admin username is admin and password is password).
Security Notes
- It is recommended you change the Admin username and password. To do so login and click on the 'General Configuration' link. Change the Admin username and password then click on the submit button.
- It is also recommended you change the database location to protect your database from unauthorized access. If you do so then edit the database path (line 5 to line 6) in 'Includes/common.asp' file.
Important
- SiteDynamic uses ASP FSO (File System Objects) to create pages. If you are using Norton Antivirus then you must deactivate the 'Script Blocking' function of your Norton Antivirus.
- You have to give SiteDynamic read/write permission. To do so ask your host to give write permission to SiteDynamic folder or follow these steps (windows XP pro):
1. In windows explorer click on 'Tools', 'Folder Options' then 'View'.
2. Tick off the very last entry ("Use simple file sharing") in the 'Advanced Parameters' box. 'Apply' and close that window.
3. Now Right click and select 'Properties' on the 'Admin\Database' Folder. Click on the 'Security' tab and give write permission to the 'IUSR_YourMachineName' (account used by IIS).
4. Repeat the above step for the 'locked.htm' file and to the '\Content', '\Includes', '\LanguageFiles', '\Templates' and '\Uploads' folders and sub folders.
Server Requirements
- Microsoft Windows 2000/XP, Windows 2000/2003 Server
- Microsoft IIS 5 and above
- Support of ASP 3.0 VBscript 5 server language
- Read/Write permission to the SiteDynamic installation folder

- Server requirements list...
Common Errors
- I'm getting a 'Server.CreateObject Failed' error?
You don't have 'write' permission on SiteDynamic specific folders. Make sure the 'Content' folder (and sub-folders), the 'Uploads' (and sub-folders), the 'Includes' folder and the 'Admin\Database' folder have 'read/write' permission.
- Some Admin pages don't load?
Your antivirus is blocking FSO (File System Object). Disable the 'Script Blocking' in your antivirus.
